Meprate 10 mg Tablet is a female hormone that helps to regulate ovulation. It is used to prevent pregnancy. It is also used to correct menstrual disorders caused due to a lack of this hormone in the body.
Meprate 10mg Tablet is a progestin (female hormones). It works as part of hormone replacement therapy by replacing the amount of oestrogen in the uterus. It works to bring on menstruation by replacing the natural progesterone that some women are missing.
Meprate 10mg Tablet is a progestin that is it helps regulate menstrual cycles and ovulation in women. The drug works similar to the hormone progesterone. It is prescribed for treating irregular periods, abnormal bleeding in uterine and for amenorrhea. This drug can also help stop the overgrowth of the uterus lining.
Meprate 10mg Tablet comes as tablet that is taken orally, usually once a day once in a while. Consult your doctor for the usage and dose. Meprate 10mg Tablet is also used in hormone replacement therapy for treating menopause symptoms. This drug also reduces the risk of developing uterine cancer by preventing the growth of endometrial hyperplasia.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Meprate 10mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Meprate tablets 10mg contain medroxyprogesterone, a progestogen or synthetic derivative of the female sex hormone progesterone, which means that its chemical structure closely resembles that of naturally produced progesterone.
Endogenous (naturally produced) progesterone is produced by the ovaries during the second phase of the menstrual cycle. It acts on the endometrium (lining of the uterus) converting the proliferating phase to the secretory phase.
This causes the endometrium, which has thickened in response to oestrogen during the first half of the cycle, to stop growing and start secreting hormones and other proteins needed to maintain a pregnancy, if conception occurs; if not, levels of oestrogen and progesterone fall and the endometrium is shed (menstruation). Medroxyprogesterone in Meprate tablets 10mg works in a similar way to endogenous progesterone, and helps re-establish a regular menstrual cycle in the treatment of secondary amenorrhoea or abnormal uterine bleeding during the menstrual cycle.
Medroxyprogesterone in Meprate tablets 10mg acts on uterine endometrium to reduce prevent proliferation of the endometrium and reduce risk of endometrial cancer in women taking HRT; also to prevent the endometrium it growing in all its locations, which alleviates symptoms of endometriosis including pain and bleeding.
Swallow each tablet whole. Take your tablets at the same time each day. Treatment may be required for 8 to 10 weeks before any effect can be found.
Do not take medroxyprogesterone If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to medroxyprogesterone or other similar hormone medicines or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Avoid smoking while you are taking this medicine. Smoking greatly increases your risk of blood clots.
This medicine can pass into body fluids (including urine, feces, vomit, semen, vaginal fluid). Patients and caregivers should wear rubber gloves while cleaning up body fluids, handling contaminated trash or laundry or changing diapers. Wash hands before and after removing gloves. Wash soiled clothing and linens separately from other laundry.
Body fluids should not be handled by a woman who is pregnant or who may become pregnant. Use condoms during sexual activity to avoid exposure to body fluids.
Avoid becoming pregnant while being treated with medroxyprogesterone.
You should not use Meprate tablets 10mg if you:
Meprate 10mg Tablet is used in abnormal uterine bleeding and contraception.
You should store your Meprate tablets 10mg below 25°C in a cool dry place.
