Melalite Forte Cream is used to reduce the colour of skin and remove any dark spots like age spots, freckles, and other skin discolouration associated with skin trauma, pregnancy, birth control pills, eczema or hormone replacement therapy. Melalite Forte Cream acts as a skin-bleaching agent and works by inhibiting an enzyme reaction in the applied skin cells.
Mild burning, redness, stinging and dryness may occur as side effects to using this medicine. Serious side effects which may occur include skin cracking, blistering and blue-black darkening of the skin.
Before using this medicine, discuss with your doctor your medical history, especially if you have asthma, other skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis. Do not use the medicine if you have had allergic reactions to it.
The drug is a bleaching and skin lightening agent. It mainly works by lightening the dark skin areas and by inhibiting an enzyme reaction in cells.
The combination of Glyceryl Mono Para Amino Benzoate and Hydroquinone in the medicine helps in reduction of production of melanin. It is because of melanin that the skin colour is brown. The more the melanin the darker is the skin colour. When the medicine is applied it reduces the production of melanin thus making the skin light in colour.

Avoid going out in the sun. Wear protective clothes and also use a sun screen when going out in the sun.

Never use the medicine on an injured, cracked or irritated skin.
The drug contains metabisulfite that may cause serious allergic reactions including anaphylactic reactions in certain susceptible people.
Do not use the medicine if the expiry date has passed.
The medicine should not be applied to a child below the age of 5 unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor.
Never use hydrogen peroxide, benzoyl peroxide, or other peroxide agents while using Hydroquinone. A transitory dark staining of the skin may occur. If mistakenly used together, immediately wash the skin with soap and water to remove the staining.
If the medicine gets into your eyes then wash the medicine with water.
Store the medicine in cool and dry place, away from heat, moisture and light.
Since this medicine contains no sunscreen, an effective sunscreen lotion should be used and avoid unnecessary sun exposure. Wear protective clothing to cover bleached skin to prevent repigmentation from occurring.
