Galamer 4Mg Tablet is used in the treatment of mild to moderate vascular dementia which includes symptoms such as impairment of memory or judgment, changes in personality, abstract thinking in patients with Alzheimer disease.
Memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease is due to disturbance of message signals in the brain. Galamer 4mg Tablet works by increasing the levels of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger involved in the transmission of nerve signals.
Galamer 4Mg Tablet is a cholinesterase inhibitor which means that it works by increasing the production of a certain substance which is acetylcholine in the brain, which helps reduce symptoms of dementia in patients with Alzheimer disease. It should not be administered to patients with you have severe liver or kidney problems.
The side effects include headache, diarrhea, dizziness, sudden loss of appetite, mild stomach pain or upset, indigestion, nausea, tiredness, trouble sleeping, vomiting, weight loss. When you begin your Galamer 4Mg Tablet treatment, the doctor will increase your dosage slowly over the course of several months.
This will help decrease the risk of certain negative side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis could also happen. This can cause serious health problems that may not go away and sometimes may lead to death. It is advised to get medical help immediately if you see signs like red, blistered, swollen, or peeling skin sometimes with or without a fever, red or irritated eyes, or sores in your mouth, throat, nose, or eyes.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Galamer 4mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
