Zivast AM How To Work
This Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amlodipine and atorvastatin which treat high blood pressure associated with high cholesterol levels.
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB). It works by relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication which works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol.
It thus lowers “bad” cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises “good” cholesterol (HDL). Together they reduce the risk of heart diseases.

These Tablet is used for High cholesterol, Dyslipidemia, Cardiovascular disease, Prevention of atherosclerotic stroke, Prevention of heart attack, Hypertension, Coronary artery disease, Chronic stable angina, Vasospastic angina and other conditions. This Tablet Tablet may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Zivast AM How To Take
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. This Tablet Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Mechanism Action Of Zivast AM
This Tablet improves the patient’s condition by performing the following functions:
- Inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase and reduces triglycerides levels in the blood.
- Inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscles.

Warning
Pregnancy – Zivast AM is not recommended for use in pregnant women due to the increased risk of fetal harm. Your doctor may prescribe a safer alternative based on your clinical condition.
Breast-feeding – This Tablet is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding or to discontinue the drug based on your clinical condition.
Cognitive impairment – This Tablet may cause forgetfulness, memory loss, confusion, etc. in some patients. These side effects are reversible and usually disappear once the medicine is discontinued.
Altered blood sugar levels – These Tablets may cause an alteration in the blood sugar levels. This risk is especially higher in patients with diabetes mellitus. Close monitoring of blood sugar levels may be necessary based on the clinical condition. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative should be done under your doctor’s supervision.
