This Tablet is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels, allowing the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.

This Tablet is used for High blood pressure, Kidney failure in patients with diabetes, Heart attack, Cardiac arrest, Elevated blood pressure, Acute hypotension, Cardiac dysfunction, Heart failure and other conditions. It may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Telma 40mg How To Take

The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take This Tablet as prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Take This Tablet with or without food.

If you miss a dose of This Tablet, please take it immediately once you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Interaction with Alcohol

Description – Use of This Tablet with alcohol will have an additive effect in lowering the blood pressure.

Instructions – Consumption of alcohol with this medicine will lower the blood pressure and can cause dizziness, headache and changes in heart rate. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you have these symptoms.

Telma 40mg Warning

Breast-feeding – It is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. Discuss all the risks and benefits with your doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may prescribe a safer alternative based on your clinical condition.

Hypotension – Symptomatic hypotension may occur in patients with volume depletion or those who treated with high dose diuretics. Correct the condition before starting This Tablet or start the treatment at reduced doses.

Hyperkalemia – It may cause Hyperkalemia (a condition with an increase in the potassium levels in the blood). Use with caution in patients with concomitant use of potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements and in patients with impaired kidney function.

Impaired liver function – The elimination of This Tablet is reduced in liver disease. Start treatment at low doses and titrate slowly.

Pediatric population – The safety and efficacy of This Tablet has not been established in children and adolescents age below 18 years.

Do not drive or operate heavy machinery if Telma40mg Tablet causes dizziness or blurred vision.
