This Tablet is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels, allowing the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.

Olmesar 40mg How To Take

The dosage of olmesar 40mg Tablet prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.

Take olmesar 40mg Tablet by mouth. It can be taken with or without food.

If your physician has instructed or directed you to take olmesar 40mg Tablet medication in a regular schedule and you have missed a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the doses unless otherwise directed.

Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose of olmesar 40mg Tablet, seek medical attention immediately. Some of the overdose symptoms of this drug are fainting, dizziness, and fast or slow heartbeat.

Interaction with Alcohol

Description – Use of Olmesar 40mg Tablet with alcohol will have an additive effect in lowering the blood pressure.

Instructions – Consumption of alcohol with this medicine will lower the blood pressure and can cause dizziness, headache and changes in heart rate. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you have these symptoms.

This Tablet may cause hyperkalemia, a condition with an increase in the potassium levels in the blood. Use with caution in patients with concomitant use of potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements and in patients with impaired kidney function.

Use with caution in patients with mild to moderate liver injury. An initial dose of 10 mg once daily is recommended and should not exceed 20 mg/day.

The safety and efficacy of Olmesar 40mg Tablet has not been established in children age below 18 years.

• Avoid drinking of alcohol while consuming the drug
• Avoid taking hydrochlorothiazide at bedtime because it makes you urinate more often

• Consult your doctor if you experience dryness of mouth, thirst, weakness, lethargy, drowsiness, restlessness, confusion, muscle pains or cramps
• Do not chew the tablet
• Do not chew, divide or crush the tablets
• Do not operate heavy machinery or drive
• Drink adequate amount of liquid to avoid becoming dehydrated or overheated
• Swallow whole tablet with water
