Mignar 50 mg Tablet is an antidiabetic used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes for adults. This medicine is not recommended for use in children. Mignar 50mg Tablet is an anti-diabetic medication. It inhibits the intestinal enzymes that cause breakdown of complex sugars into simple sugars such as glucose. This prevents blood glucose from rising very high after meals.

Pregnancy - This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine.

Low blood glucose levels - This medicine should be used with caution due to an increased risk of low blood glucose levels. This risk is especially higher in patients on other anti-diabetic medicines. Frequent monitoring of blood glucose levels is necessary during treatment with this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments may be done based on the clinical condition.
Gastrointestinal disease - Mignar 50 mg Tablet is not recommended for use in patients with any gastrointestinal diseases like inflammatory bowel disease, colonic ulceration, partial intestinal obstruction, or any chronic intestinal disease. It is advised that you should inform the doctor about all your medical conditions before starting treatment with this medicine.
Mignar is used together with other diabetes medicines to control blood sugar and avoids long-term complications.
You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines along with Mignar.
Mignar lowers your post-meal blood sugar levels, and therefore should be taken just before meals.
Side effects such as stomach pain, gas, and diarrhoea may occur during the first few weeks of treatment but should get better with time.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.
Mignar Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms in Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Store medicines at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze medicines unless required by package insert. Keep medicines away from children and pets.
