Dorzox Eye Drop is a Dorzolamide.
Dorzolamide (topical) is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. They work by decreasing the production of aqueous humour (fluid in the eye), thereby lowering the increased eye pressure.
Dorzox Eye Drops containing the active ingredient dorzolamide is considered a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor type of medication. It works by lowering high pressure inside the eye which can help prevent the gradual loss of vision. It is mainly prescribed to treat open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The medication can be used to control glaucoma but cannot be used to cure it.
This medicine is for external use only.Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid.
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Dorzox Eye Drops may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Remove contact lenses prior to applying the medication and wait at least 15 minutes after application to put contact lenses back on.
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Dorzox Eye Drops is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
The correct dosage and prescription commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. This product is only for use as prescribed and instructed.
Dorzox helps lower high pressure in the eye and reduces the risk of vision loss.
For best results, put one drop 2-3 times daily in the affected eye(s).
Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after instilling the drop. This minimizes the risk of side effects.
Take care to prevent contact of eye dispenser with eye, eyelid, eyelashes, or finger to avoid infection.
Remove contact lenses before using Betagan and allow at least 15 minutes before re-inserting them.
When applying multiple eye medications, wait for at least 5-15 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
Dorzox Eye Drops is usually applied to the affected eyes 3 times per day or as directed by a doctor. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the medication.
To apply the eye drop, tilt the head back and pull on the lower lid of the eye to create a pocket for the medication. Hold the dropper above your eye and release one drop into the eye.
Press gently on the inside corner of the eye and close your eye for a minute or two. Repeat the process as required.
Store medicines at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze medicines unless required by package insert. Keep medicines away from children and pets.
