What Is Generic Viagra

What Is Generic Viagra

Description

As it contains the same active ingredient, Sildenafil (or “generic Viagra”) provides the same benefits as Viagra itself, these include increased frequency and duration of erections sufficient for sex. Because it is not associated with a particular brand, sildenafil is generally sold at a cheaper price. For a comparison, it’s helpful to think about ibuprofen, the active ingredient of Nurofen and Anadin. While you can buy these brand medicines in pharmacies, you can also typically buy a generic, cheaper equivalent: Ibuprofen.

Uses

Read the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist before you start taking sildenafil and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. To treat erectile dysfunction-ED, take this drug by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually as needed. Take sildenafil at least 30 minutes, but no more than 4 hours, before sexual activity (1 hour before is the most effective). Do not take more than once daily.A high-fat meal may delay how quickly the drug begins to work.

Dosage

Typically, the recommended dose is 50 mg taken about one hour before sexual activity. But you can take Viagra anywhere from 30 minutes to four hours before you have sex.You can take Viagra with or without food, but if you take it with a high-fat meal, the medicine might take longer to start working. Follow your doctor’s instructions when using this medicine.
