Topiramate Reviews

Topiramate Reviews

After trying everything and failing to get my migraines under control, I was at rock bottom. My doctor suggested Topiramate and it has changed my life. I can go out and live a normal life, and not worry what will happen if I get a migraine or how quickly I can get home. My migraines have completely stopped since I have upped the dose from 25mg to 50mg I get some tingling in my legs but I can cope with that if it means no migraines for ever. It’s a miracle drug"

Before starting Topamax, be sure to give your physician a list of all the drugs you are using, including prescription, over-the-counter (OTC), vitamins, herbal supplements, and recreational drugs.Using carbamazepine (Tegretol) or phenytoin (Dilantin) may increase the elimination of Topamax from your body, making it less effective. The following drugs might increase your risk of kidney stones and metabolic acidosis:

  • Acetazolamide (Diamox)
  • Dorzolamide (Trusopt)
  • Methazolamide (Neptazane)
  • Dichlorphenamide (Daranide)

If you combine Topamax with valproic acid (Depakote, Depakote ER, Depakene, Depacon, Stavzor) this could raise your blood ammonia levels, causing hypothermia.
