Susten 100 Mg /ml Injection

Progesterone is a type of female hormone (progestin). Susten 100 Mg is similar to the progesterone that your body naturally makes. Susten 100 Mg is given to replace the hormone when your body is not making enough of it.

In women who are not pregnant and have not gone through menopause, Susten 100 Mg medication is used to restore normal menstrual periods that have stopped for several months (amenorrhea).

It is also used to treat abnormal bleeding from the uterus that is due to low hormone levels and not other causes (e.g., fibroids, cancer of the uterus).

Progesterone must not be used to test for pregnancy. Progestins are not effective in preventing miscarriages.

How To Susten 100mg/1ml Work?

Progesterone belongs to the class of drugs called steroid hormones. The drug acts by reducing the frequency of gonadotropin-releasing hormone from the hypothalamus by binding to the progesterone and oestrogen receptors.  It also decreases follicular maturation and ovulation by suppressing the secretion of pituitary gonadotropin.

How To Take Susten 100mg/1ml Inj?

The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight, and medical condition of an individual. Use Progesterone as prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the whole tablet/capsule. Do not crush or chew the tablet/capsule. Take the drug with food. Taking the drug with food prevents stomach upset.

Apply a thin layer of Progesterone gel over the affected area and ensure the area is clean and dry before application.

Progesterone injection should be administered only under the medical supervision.

You must seek immediate medical care if you experience any of the above symptoms.

Susten 100mg/ml Injection is safe to use during pregnancy.

Adequate and well-controlled human studies have shown low or no risk.

Susten 100mg/ml Injection is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amounts or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.

Susten 100mg/ml Injection may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decreased alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

There is limited information available on the use of Susten 100mg/ml Injection in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

There is limited information available on the use of Susten 100mg/ml Injection in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

Use of Susten 100mg/ml Injection is however not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

Precaution of Susten 100mg/1ml Inj

Avoid using the Susten 100 Mg if you are allergic to Progesterone or similar drugs.

Seek doctor’s advice before taking any other drug or herbal products while on Progesterone.

Do not stop using the medication abruptly unless instructed by the doctor. Discontinuing the medication suddenly may cause the illness to return.

Do not exceed the dose more than prescribed.

Be cautious while using Progesterone if you have any kidney or liver impairment.

Uses of Susten 100mg/1ml

Progesterone tablet/capsule is used for the treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding. It is also used to induce menstrual cycle and relieve symptoms of pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS).

Progesterone gel/spray is used to relieve breast pain and expansion of the cervix.

Progesterone injection is used for the treatment of infertility in females.

Progesterone pessaries are used for the treatment of puerperal depression.

Progesterone may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.

Storage of Susten 100mg/1ml

This medication is given in a clinic and will not be stored at home.

Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. – Susten 100 Mg must not be used past the expiry date.
