Overview

Sodium Cromoglycate is used for Allergic conjunctivitis, Eye symptoms, Wheezing and shortness of breath, Naso bronchial allergy, Eye allergy and other conditions.

This salt may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

How long does sodium cromoglycate take to work?

Your child may start feeling better several days after starting this medicine. It may take up to 4 weeks after your child starts taking sodium cromoglycate before this medicine has full effect.

Uses

Sodium Cromoglycate is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:

  • Allergic conjunctivitis
  • Eye symptoms
  • Wheezing and shortness of breath
  • Naso bronchial allergy

How to use sodium cromoglicate eye drops

  • Wash your hands before you use the drops.
  • Remove the cap (or the tip of the unit if you are using a single-dose unit).
  • Tilt your head back a little and pull the lower lid of your eye out to form a pocket.
  • Hold the bottle (or single-dose unit) upside down near to your eye. Try not to touch your eye as you do this.

Interactions with Sodium Cromoglycate

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Sodium Cromoglycate may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Sodium Cromoglycate may interact with the following drugs and products:

  • Terfenadine

Storage of Sodium Cromoglycate

Store medicines at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze medicines unless required by package insert. Keep medicines away from children and pets.
