What is Sildenafil Teva?

Sildenafil Teva is a medicine that contains the active substance sildenafil. It is available as tablets (25,50 and 100 mg).Sildenafil Teva is a ‘generic medicine’. This means that Sildenafil Teva is similar to a ‘referencemedicine’ already authorised in the European Union (EU) called Viagra.

What is Sildenafil Teva used for?

Sildenafil Teva is used to treat adult men with erectile dysfunction (sometimes called impotence), when they cannot get or keep a hard penis (erection) sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity. For Sildenafil Teva to be effective, sexual stimulation is required.

How does Sildenafil Teva work?

The active ingredient in Sildenafil Teva, sildenafil, belongs to a group of medicines calledphosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. It works by blocking the phosphodiesterase enzyme,which normally breaks down a substance known as cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). Duringnormal sexual stimulation, cGMP is produced in the penis, where it causes the muscle in the spongytissue of the penis (the corpora cavernosa) to relax.

How to Take?

  • Take one Sildenafil tablet at least 30 minutes before you engage in sexual intercourse
  • The effects of the treatment will last for up to 4 hours
  • Do not take more than 1 tablet per day

What are the side effects of Sildenafil?

Sildenafil, like all medications, can cause side effects in some individuals although these are usually mild / moderate and last for a short duration.Common side effects include: Headache, facial flushing, blurred vision, stuffy nose and dizziness If you experience the following you should contact your doctor immediately:Chest pain during or after sex. How to store Sildenafil

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and on the blister after EXP.The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.Store in the original container in order to protect from light.Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
