Sildenafil Dosis

Sildenafil Dosis

sildenafil dosis

Sildenafil is a recommended drug for erectile dysfunction, administration of the drug is oral and should be done during meals. Administration once a day. The usual dose for adults is 50 mg. Sildenafil should be taken one hour before sexual intercourse. We recommend that you consult your doctor for more information on the amount and frequency of allowable intake.

In addition, taking Sildenafil should be adapted to the physical condition of the person and the cause of erectile dysfunction.

Sildenafil must be taken with sexual stimulation to achieve penile erection.

Schopohl et al. give a balanced overview of pharmacology and clinical use of Sildenafil. We can only welcome such a substantive debate on this important drug, since the discussion about sildenafil has all too often been characterized by emotion in the medical literature.

Unfortunately, there has been a mistake in the article in the dosage recommendation that could lead to confusion. The valid dosage recommendation, which resulted from clinical trials and has been confirmed by the regulatory authority, is:

If necessary, take 50 mg approximately one hour before sexual intercourse. Depending on efficacy and tolerability, the dose may be adjusted to 100 mg or 25 mg. In the elderly, the starting dose is 25 mg, and according to efficacy and tolerability the dose may be increased to 50 mg and then to 100 mg. In case of hepatic insufficiency, severe renal insufficiency or concomitant administration of CYP-3A4 inhibitors, an initial dose of 25 mg should be considered; depending on efficacy and tolerability, this may be increased to 50 mg and then to 100 mg.

The need for a sufficient dosage can be exemplified by the patient group of diabetics. In the 12-week study of 268 patients with erectile dysfunction and diabetes mellitus (mean age 57 years, range 27 years to 79 years), zero percent at study completion was 25 mg, seven percent 50 mg and 93 percent 100 mg dosage (1). In another 12-week study of 225 diabetics with erectile dysfunction (mean age 57 years), 89 percent chose the 100 mg dose at the end of the study (2).

A meta-analysis of clinical trials also found that 85 percent of erectile dysfunction diabetics were treated with the 100 mg dose at the end of their studies (3).

These data show by way of example that a sufficiently high dosage of sildenafil is crucial for the success of the therapy and that with the 25 mg dosage this is only possible in a part of the patients.

Since Viagra is used when it is needed, it is not likely that you will miss a dose.

You stop taking a dose of Revatio, the dose you stopped taking as soon as you remember. Skip the dose you stopped taking if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not use more medicine to reach the dose you stopped taking.
