How it works

Since exemestane 25 mg Tablet decreases the amount of estrogen in the body, it slows down or stops the growth of certain specific cancer cells which need estrogen to grow.

What form(s) does this medication come in?

Each white, film-coated, round, biconvex tablet with "EM" on one side and a logo on the other side, contains exemestane 25 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: butylated hydroxyanisole, butylated hydroxytoluene, colloidal anhydrous silica, crospovidone, hydroxypropylcellulose, lecithin, magnesium stearate, mannitol, polysorbate, polyvinyl alcohol, sodium starch glycolate, talc, titanium dioxide, and xanthan gum.

What are the possible side effects of exemestane (Aromasin)?

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Call your doctor at once if you have:

  • new or unusual bone pain;
  • swelling in your hands or feet;
  • feeling short of breath, even with mild exertion; or
  • chest pain, sudden numbness or weakness, sudden headache, confusion, problems with vision, speech, or balance.

Common side effects may include:

  • hot flashes;
  • headache, tired feeling;
  • joint pain;
  • nausea, increased appetite;
  • sleep problems (insomnia); or
  • increased sweating.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.


Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.


Co-administration with estrogen containing products - This medicine is not recommended for use along with estrogen containing products since these products may alter the effects of the medicine and vice versa.

Use in premenopausal women - This medicine is not indicated for use in premenopausal women.
