How To PPG 0.3mg Work?

Voglibose belongs to the class of drugs called as the anti-diabetic drugs. This drug acts by delaying the digestion and absorption of carbohydrate, which results in lowering the plasma glucose levels.

What is PPG 0.3mg Tablet?

PPG 0.3mg Tablet is used to lower blood glucose level in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, especially when other medicines are not able to provide the desired results. It belongs to a group of medicines known as alpha-glucosidases inhibitors.

How To Take PPG 0.3mg Tablet?

The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take Voglibose as prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Take the drug with or without food. However, taking the drug with food prevents stomach upset.

If you miss a dose of Voglibose, please take it immediately once you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Side Effects of PPG 0.3mg

Pregnancy – This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may prescribe an alternative medicine based on your clinical condition.

Breast-feeding – This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may prescribe an alternative medicine based on your clinical condition.

Pediatric use – This medicine is not recommended for use in children as there is a lack of clinical safety evidence.

Liver impairment – This medicine should be used with caution in patients with liver impairment. Dose adjustment and safety monitoring are advised in such cases.

Kidney impairment – This medicine should be used with caution in patients with kidney impairment. Dose adjustment and safety monitoring are advised in such cases.

Gastro-intestinal disorders – This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from diseases of the stomach or the intestine. The use should be discontinued if the condition is severe.

Diabetic ketoacidosis – This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with diabetic ketoacidosis due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of blood glucose levels and vital signs is recommended for such patients. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor immediately. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

PPG 0.3mg Dosage

Missed Dose : Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose : Contact your doctor immediately if an overdose is suspected.
