Description

Pioglit 30 MG Tablet is an effective medicine to control blood sugar levels in type II Diabetes Mellitus patients. It is to be used along with controlled diet and regular exercise. This medicine may be used in combination with other medicines for effective control.

Pioglitazone hydrochloride is an odorless white crystalline powder that has a molecular formula of C19H20N2O3S•HCl and a molecular weight of 392.90 daltons. It is soluble in N,Ndimethylformamide, slightly soluble in anhydrous ethanol, very slightly soluble in acetone and acetonitrile, practically insoluble in water, and insoluble in ether.

Uses of Pioglit 30 MG Tablet

Type II Diabetes Mellitus

This medicine is used to lower elevated blood glucose levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. It may be used as a single medication or in combination with other anti-diabetic medications.

How to use

Read the Medication Guide provided by your pharmacist before you start using pioglitazone and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily. Dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, and if you are taking other diabetes drugs. Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next scheduled dose then the missed dose can be skipped. Do not take two doses within a day to make up for the previous day's missed dose.

Edema - This medicine should be used with caution in patients with edema due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Ovulation problems - This medicine should be used with caution in premenopausal patients due to the increase in chances of ovulation. Adequate contraceptive measures are recommended for such patients to avoid an unplanned pregnancy.

Bone fractures - This medicine may increase the risk of fractures in some patients. This risk is especially higher in female patients. Close monitoring of bone health is recommended during treatment with this medicine. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.
