This Tablet is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in relief of acid related indigestion and heartburn.

What Is Nexpro 20mg

Nexpro Tablet is used for Gastroesophageal reflux disease, Peptic ulcer, Gastric ulcers, Helicobacter pylori infection, Zollinger-ellison syndrome and other conditions. Nexpro Tablet may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Nexpro 20mg How To Take

The dosage of This Tablet prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.

Take This Tablet at least one hour before a meal.

If your physician has instructed or directed you to take This Tablet medication in a regular schedule and you have missed a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the doses unless otherwise directed.

Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose of This Tablet, seek medical attention immediately.

Diarrhea – This medicine has been associated with an increased incidence of Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea in some patients. Consult your doctor if you experience diarrhea that does not improve over time.

Liver disease – Report any incidence of liver disease to the doctor. This medicine is not recommended for use if the impairment is severe. For mild to moderate impairment, this medicine can be given with suitable dose adjustment and safety monitoring.

• Consult a doctor if you have malignancy, hepatic impairment or community-acquired pneumonia.
• Drinking alcohol, smoking, taking steroids, seziure medications, as well as family history of osteoporosis increases risk of osteoporosis while taking this medication.
• Lactation.
• May increase risk of lupus.
• May increase risk of osteoporosis.
• Monitor for signs and symptoms of bleeding.
• Notify MD if planning on becoming or are pregnant.
• Notify MD if stools look black and tarry, throwing up blood, or throw up that looks like coffee grounds.
