How should Hydroxyurea be used:

Use as you have been told, even if you are feeling better. Wash your hands before and after use. Wear gloves when touching this drug. A liquid may be made if you cannot swallow capsules.

Common side effects of Hydroxyurea :

Anemia, low white blood cell count, and low platelet count. Headache. Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Not hungry. Hard stools (constipation). Drinking more liquids, working out, or adding fiber to your diet may help. Talk with your doctor about a stool softener or laxative. Loose stools (diarrhea). Mouth irritation or sores. Using a soft toothbrush or cotton swabs and rinsing the mouth may help. Do not use mouth rinses that have alcohol in them. Swelling. Skin changes (pimples, stretch marks, slow healing, hair growth).   • 20 to 30 mg/kg administered orally as a single dose daily.

What do I do if I miss a dose

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

What precautions should I take when taking Hydroxyurea :

`If you have an allergy to flunarizine or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have any of these health problems: Low mood (depression) or Parkinsons disease. This drug is not helpful during a migraine attack. If you are breast-feeding.
