Daclahep 60mg Tablet is used in combination with other medications such as sofosbuvir, interferon and ribavirin for the treatment of hepatitis C infection.
On using this medication you may experience side effects such as nausea, headache, weakness, fatigue, breakdown of the red cell, diarrhoea, drowsiness, dizziness and skin rash. If your reactions persist or become worse over time seek the help of your health care provider right away.
Before using this medication you should tell your doctor if; you are allergic to any of the ingredient contained within Daclahep 60mg Tablet, you have allergy towards any food/medicine/substance, you are taking any prescription or non-prescription drugs, herbal products or dietary supplements, you have hepatitis B/ liver/heart/ disorders, you suffer from seizures, St. John’s wort, you recently had a liver transplant, you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant or are nursing a baby.
The dosage should be determined by the doctor based on your age, overall medical history and current condition. The usual dose in adults for treating chronic hepatitis C is 60 mg, taken orally once daily for a period of 12 weeks.
2. How To Daclahep 60mg Work?
When a person is infected with the hepatitis C virus, the liver is targeted and becomes inflamed; this is known as hepatitis. The longer the virus remains in the body, the worse the damage to the liver becomes. Daclatasvir targets the hepatitis C virus and blocks multiple steps in the replication process of the HCV. This prevents the virus particles from duplicating themselves, allowing the body to clear (remove) the virus from the blood.
3. What is Daclahep 60mg Tablet?
Daclahep contains Daclatasvir, a medicine used to treat chronic (lasting a long time) hepatitis C genotype 1 or genotype 3 infection in adults. Daclahep must be taken in combination with sofosbuvir, or with sofosbuvir and ribavirin. It must not be taken by itself.
4. How To Take Daclahep 60mgTablet?
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it.
5. Side Effects of Daclahep 60mg
The most serious side effect of Daclatasvir and Sofosbuvir occurs in patients taking amiodarone. Bradycardia (slow heart rate) can occur. If you are taking these three drugs and notice any of the following, contact your doctor immediately.
- fainting or near-fainting
- dizziness or lightheadedness
- not feeling well
- weakness
- tiredness
- shortness of breath
- chest pain
- confusion
- memory problems
Common side effects are generally only mild and temporary. You may notice headaches and tiredness, and if you are taking ribavirin anemia (low red blood cell count) and nausea.
6. Warning of Daclahep 60mg tablet
Daclatasvir should never be taken on its own. It must be used in combination with other antiviral medicines. Make sure to read any safety infomation about sofobuvir and ribavirin if you are taking these with daclatasvir.
Prior to beginning treatment with Daclatasvir, tell your doctor if:
- you have had liver problems and/or liver transplant
- you have had heart problems
- you are takijng any other prescription or non-prescription medicines
- you are pregnant or your partner is pregnant
- you are trying to become pregnant or your partner is trying to become pregnant
- you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed
7. Daclahep 60mg Dosage
Treatment with Daclahep should be initiated and monitored by physician experienced in the management of chronic hepatitis C. The recommended dose of Daclahep is 60 mg once daily to be taken orally with or without meals. Daclahep must be administered in combination with other medical products.The Packeges inserts of the medicinal products in the regimen should also be consulted before initiation of therapy with Daclahep. 8. Uses of Daclahep 60mg
Daclatasvir is an antiviral medicine that prevents hepatitis C virus (HCV) from multiplying in your body. Daclatasvir is used to treat genotype 3 chronic hepatitis C in adults without cirrhosis. This medicine is given together with another drug called sofosbuvir.
Daclatasvir must be given in combination with sofosbuvir and it should not be used alone.
9. Storage of Daclahep 60mg
Store at 25°C (77°F); excursions permitted between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F).
Store DaclaHep in its original container. Do not mix different medications together in the same container.
Store it in a cool, dry place, protected from light and refrigerated when necessary. Improper storage can affect the effectiveness and shelf life of your medicine.
Consider storing your medications separately from your other family members. You can put them on a different shelf, or in a different cabinet or drawer.
Do not keep it in the glove compartment of your car. Medicine can get too hot, cold, or wet there.
Always store this hepatitis medicine out of reach and out of sight of children.
