3. What is Velasof Tablet?

Velpatasvir & Sofosbuvir ( Tab Velasof ) by Hetero is a combination of sofosbuvir and velpatasvir and is used to treat chronic (long-lasting) hepatitis C, a viral infection of the liver. It is also used with another antiviral medication (ribavirin). These drugs work by reducing the amount of hepatitis C virus in your body, which helps your immune system fight the infection and may help your liver recover.

4. Side Effects of Velasof

In addition to its intended effect, Velasof 400mg/100mg Tablet may cause some unwanted effects too. In such cases, you must seek medical attention immediately. This is not an exhaustive list of side effects. Please inform your doctor if you experience any adverse reaction to the medication.

Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Velasof 400mg/100mg Tablet, when taken together with other medicines for the treatment of hepatitis c infection, may produce dizziness, blurred vision and this may affect your ability to drive.

Limited information is available on the use of Velasof 400mg/100mg Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease.

6. Precaution of Velasof tablet

To make sure Velasof is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:

a history of hepatitis B;

kidney disease (or if you are on dialysis);

liver problems other than hepatitis;

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus); or

if you have recently used a heart rhythm medicine called amiodarone.

8. Storage of Velasof

Store Velpatasvir/Sofosbuvir tablets in a cool and dry place (Not in refrigerator).

Discard the medicine if its expiry date has crossed.

Keep this HCV medicine away from the reach of children or pets. A locked cupboard at least one-and-a-half meters above the ground is a good place to store medicines.

Keep your tablets in the original container until it is time to take them.

Do not store Velasof or any other medicine in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink. Do not leave it in the car. Heat and dampness can destroy some medicines.
