Firam 250mg Tablet is an alcohol-abuse deterrent. It’s used to treat alcoholism along with counseling therapies. It prevents the unpleasant side effects that come with alcohol consumption by blocking the breakdown of alcohol.
On using this medication you may experience side effects such as headache, bad taste in mouth, drowsiness, darkening of urine, seizures, weakness, fatigue, reduced appetite, mental or mood problems, swelling and skin rash. Pregnancy - This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. Discuss all the risks and benefits with your doctor before taking this medicine.

Drowsiness - This medicine may cause drowsiness or dizziness. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving a vehicle or operating machinery during treatment with this medicine.
8. Precaution of Firam 250mg tablet
Do not consume alcohol during the treatment and for up to 14 days after discontinuation.
Disulfiram may cause drowsiness or tiredness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you are affected.
Avoid taking disulfiram if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or you are breast feeding.
Before you take disulfiram inform your doctor about all the prescription, non-prescription, and herbal medicines you are or were taking.

If you suspect that you or anyone else who may have overdosed of Firam Tablet, please go to the emergency department of the closest hospital or nursing home. Bring a medicine box, container, or label with you to help doctors with necessary information.
In case you miss a dose, use it as soon as you notice. If it is close to the time of your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your dosing schedule. Do not use extra dose to make up for a missed dose. If you are regularly missing doses, consider setting an alarm or asking a family member to remind you.
