What is Entecavir for:

This medication is an oral antiviral agent, prescribed for hepatitis B. It works by decreasing the amount of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in the body.

Baraclude Dosage

For adults, the doctor will recommend the initial dosage. It is advisable that Baraclude is taken once a day on an empty stomach, at least 2 hours after or before your last meal. The recommended dose for adults and adolescents age 16 or older is 0.5 mg once daily on an empty stomach. It can be further increased to 1.0 mg once daily for patients. This drug should not be taken if you have HIV (human immunodeficiency virus).

The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take BARACLUDE 0.5mg Tablet tablet as prescribed by the doctor.

Swallow the tablet Do not crush or chew the tablet.

If you miss a dose of BARACLUDE 0.5mg Tablet, please take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Special Precautions for Entecavir 0.5mg:

Before Taking Entecavir Tell Your Doctor If You Are Allergic To Entecavir, What Other Prescription And Nonprescription Medications, Vitamins, Nutritional Supplements, And Herbal Products You Are Taking,If Have Had Liver Transplantation, AIDS, HIV, Or Had Ever A Kidney Disease.
