This Tablet is a calcium channel blocker. It blocks the action of calcium on the heart and blood vessels, thereby widening the blood vessels and allowing more blood and oxygen to reach the heart. This reduces blood pressure and decreases the chances of angina (chest pain).

This Tablet is used for Chronic stable angina, Chronic stable chest pain, Hypertension and other conditions. This Tablet may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Angizem 30mg How To Take

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. This Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Mechanism Action OfAngizem 30mg

Diltiazem Inhibits The Influx Of Extracellular Calcium Across Both The Myocardial And Vascular Smooth Muscle Cell Membranes. The Resultant Inhibition Of The Contractile Processes Of The Myocardial Smooth Muscle Cells Leads To Dilation Of The Coronary And Systemic Arteries And Improved Oxygen Delivery To The Myocardial Tissue.

Interaction with Alcohol

Description – Consumption of alcohol while taking This Tablet may cause an additional lowering of the blood pressure. This may result in severe complication over time.

Instructions – Consumption of alcohol should be avoided while taking this medicine, especially when you start taking the medicine or a change its dosage. Symptoms like headache, dizziness, change in pulse or heart rate should be reported to the doctor.

Angizem 30mg Warning

Pregnancy – This medicine is not recommended for pregnant women. Use under the supervision of the doctor, only if clinical condition clearly requires the use of this medicine.

Breast-feeding – This medicine is not recommended for breastfeeding women. Use only if clearly needed under the doctor’s supervision. Monitoring of blood pressure is necessary.

Hypotension – This Tablet may further decrease the blood pressure which results in symptomatic hypotension. Frequent monitoring of blood pressure is necessary. Dose adjustments are to be made based on the clinical condition.

Cardiac Conduction – This Tablet may cause slow heart rates and this effect is more in the patients who are on beta-blockers or digitalis. Frequent monitoring of heart function is necessary. Dose adjustments are to be made based on the clinical condition.
